A Look Back at 2014

In so many ways, 2014 was an amazing year! Ellie started driving and Evan's Baseball team went to the State playoffs. Both kids are growing into wonderfully kind Adults. Jason and I couldn't be more proud. 2014 was a life changing year for our whole family... In January, my Dad underwent Emergency Triple bypass surgery. Finding out he has Heart Disease really shook our family to the core. He has recovered and is doing amazingly well. (I love you Daddy!) Russell Street BBQ

Last night, Jason surprised me and took me downtown to an awesome BBQ dinner date. We had such a great time. I love trying new restaurants and we tend to go to the same places. Russell Street BBQ is in NE Portland. This restaurant has a fun rustic flair to it... I loved the old Portland Bottling Company crate housing the bar accessories. (Adorable) For an appetizer we ordered BBQ Shrimp- Holy Cow! It came sitting inside of a BBQ Smoked Cheese sauce. WHAT? But yummy... I ordered Beef Brisket with a side of Chili con Carne. After Christmas Sales

COUSINS CHRISTMAS CHRISTMAS DAY IN NEW JAMMIES Hope y'all had a wonderful Christmas Day. Today, I'm still cleaning up after a weeks worth of parties... Almost finished! I ventured off to Target in my sweats and stocked up on cold medicine for the medicine cabinet. Jason has been sick with a horrible cough/cold. He is feeling much better now, it started a week before Christmas and we were really happy that we were able to Host Christmas. Christmas Cookie Exchange

Annually, I host a Christmas Cookie Exchange. I have been hosting this event for 19 years. (Wow! how time flys) My friends love this event and plan their cookies almost a whole year ahead of time. We swap cookies and each guest leaves with a variety of Holiday cookies. We use them for Holiday parties or even to divide up onto trays and gift them to neighbors or friends. My cookie of choice was a no bake White Chocolate Dipped Oreo! I drizzled red and green chocolate with sprinkles for the finishing decor.
