Hawaii Recap

We just got back from Hawaii! We took the kids out of school while they had some days off for conferences. The weather was wonderful- lots of water activities. Paddle boarding, snorkeling, swimming, boating. We also toured the Macadamia Nut Farm, something I've always wanted to do. I wanted to wait until the kids were with us. Bucket List (check) Ellie has always wanted to take a paddle board Yoga class, we did that... (check) Jason of course wanted to golf... Thanksgiving Pumpkin Cupcakes

Pumpkin cupcakes with cream cheese frosting are such a FUN treat on Thanksgiving! My Mom always bakes up amazing pies for Thanksgiving- pies are her thing! Me on the other hand, I love adding to the already delicious celebration and love adding cupcakes and/or cookies. This year it's Pumpkin Cupcakes... I used a boxed cupcake mix as well as cream cheese frosting pre-made. I could have home made the cupcakes and frosting but I was so excited to frost the cupcakes with my dessert decorator. Thanksgiving Outfits

I LOVE Thanksgiving! Sweaters, boots, hats and scarves are a few of my very favorites styles for Thanksgiving day. I love keeping it casual because we usually are cooking all day and relaxing watching football. Every other year we travel to my parents house in Bend, Oregon. The weather is crisp and cool during these time of year, so these adorable outfits are perfect for inside or out... I love to  grab a scarf to take a walk while the turkey is cooking. DIY Boxwood Backdrop

I styled this dessert table for a wedding in October. I loved how it turned out... I especially love the Boxwood Backdrop that I created. I've seen so much artificial Boxwood being used in Canada and thought to myself how can I incorporate this into my design. This is what I came up with! I also worked with an amazing graphic designer who created the monogram sign that I hung with clear wire floating in front of the Boxwood Backdrop. This look was so clean and classic.   Beautiful Dessert table styled and designed by Johnston Style. It's no surprise I LOVE a good dessert table- I worked with my sweet friend at Cookies by Courtney & Company and came up with an amazing design that fit the wedding style. I think these cookies were a HIT for all ages. I added some Beaverton Bakery vanilla mini cupcakes along with a Mummy Wrapped four tiered cake chosen by the Bride & Groom. Hallo- Bar Cart

Trick or Treat! I always set up my bar cart for the Holidays- You never know WHO will be stopping by, especially on Halloween night. Bath and Body Works sell some of my favorite candles. I really love the smell of them as well as the decoration on the jar. This is one I found this season, I didn't want to burn it away because it smelt so yummy- oops! I found these wines at World Market- I picked them because of their cool labels. Sometimes, that is how I find the best wines.
