It is Jason’s favorite time of the year… FOOTBALL SEASON! I’m here for the tailgate. I’m sharing some fun ways to dress up your tailgate from drab to fab! I added some Fall elements to the tailgate party which I think definitely makes my guests want to stay and hang out longer. Pioneer Women Lemon Bar Recipe

Y’all probably don’t know my favorite part of the weekend is watching Pioneer Women on Sunday mornings. I get so many great recipes and I even cried my eyes out when I watched her daughters wedding episode. Today, I’m sharing her Lemon Bar recipe. I LOVE a good lemon bar! As a child I couldn’t eat enough. Over the last few years, I haven’t enjoyed the lemon bars I’ve eaten. I thought maybe my palette changed. I finally realized it has everything to do with the shortbread crust and the lemon filling ratio. I haven’t made them in about 15 years. My Mom also has a great recipe. I realized that the shortbread was too thin and the lemon filling … [Read more...]

Cinco de Mayo Bar Cart

I hope you had a great Cinco de Mayo?! Y’all LOVED my styled bar cart I shared on Instagram. So, I wanted to share it here on the blog as well. I made this adorable grab -n go appetizer/drink bar cart. Which featured individual layered dip, chips and Corona beer. This idea makes entertaining so easy. All the prep is done ahead of time. I layered my favorite taco/dip ingredients in small plastic containers. Starting with refried beans, sour cream, sprinkled taco seasoning then added guacamole. Topped with tomatoes, green onions, olives & cheese. I ended up using a baggie cutting the corner and piped the beans, sour cream & guacamole … [Read more...]

Strawberry Sweetheart Pie

I’m so excited to be sharing this recipe with you! It is so delicious and so adorable. I cheated just a bit and used a store bought Pillsbury pie crust but I did shared a great recipe above if you’d rather make your own. I’ve never made a strawberry pie before and feel like it almost should be something I’d make around the Fourth of July. I would probably make the top crust lattice for a Fourth of July party but because it’s almost Valentine’s Day I decided to use a small heart cookie cutter and cut out hearts all over the top crust. I baked the pie at 350 degrees for 45 minutes and added tinfoil for the last 10 … [Read more...]

America’s Birthday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA! 4th of July is one of my very favorite holidays. It’s fun, festive and we always celebrated BIG in our house growing up. I definitely got my entertaining skills from my Mama. She knew how to throw a great party and her 4th of July bashes were ones that the guests waited for all year long. I love picnics + BBQ’s but my spin on a great 4th party is the adorable decor. Like this patio umbrella and swag flag. I found these plastic wine glasses which I’ve been using all month of June. (heehee) This coffee mug from Pottery Barn which sold out before I could post about it. (tear) The cutest reusable party straws. I also adore … [Read more...]

Home & Family

Ok, so I’m not as fancy as I think! But my sweet friend Jenny Keller IS... I met Jenny years ago as I began following her on Instagram. It was when she just launched her new cookbook “EAT MORE DESSERTS” and Jenny also lives in the Pacific Northwest like ME. I live in Oregon and Jenny lives in Seattle. (she is just 3 hrs. north) After following her for awhile she started hosting cookie bake shops and events in the Seattle area. I signed up and attended each and every event I could! She is such a genuinely sweet person, she is soft spoken and the salt of the earth. Jenny has worked with a number of celebrities over the years including … [Read more...]

Thanksgiving Tablescape Ideas

I LOVE this time of the year! I love the smell of Holiday season. I love staying inside watching Hallmark movies all curled up in a fuzzy blanket on the couch. I have to say... Thanksgiving is my very favorite Holiday. I like food, yes... but the "tablescapes" are definitely right up there with celebrating with family. (Obsessed) Thanksgiving is all about the classic entertaining. There AREN'T gifts involved it's just a joyous occasion celebrated around the dinner table. I am a major Pinterest scroller. When I'm relaxing on the weekends, I love to find inspiration from … [Read more...]
