Preparing Taxes

Amy Northard, CPA

Last summer, I met Amy at The Savvy Business Conference in Arizona. She is such a sweet, soft spoken lady- I instantly feel in love with her and her CPA skills. Up until now, when anyone would say “CPA” it was like nails on a chalkboard for me. I do all the books for my Husband’s company as well as Johnston Style and I can’t tell you how much I hated tax season. Guess WHAT?! NO LONGER… After hiring Amy -I already have a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. I’m happy to say most of MY preparation in the past years was spot on, the problem seems to be with the OLD CPA. This made it very difficult for me to see. I wasn’t the professional in that particular field, so I entrusted in them to do their job… when things were getting more difficult for me or things weren’t getting done in a timely manner, I knew a change needed to happen. Amy is VERY organized! In The Savvy Business Community one thing I’ve learned is “OUT SOURCE”- when you are NOT the expert in a certain area search out source who IS. Ask questions to see if they match your style and business philosophy… Don’t try to take on things that DON’T work for you. Amy has come up with a webinar called “Be Your Own CFO.” This webinar has 5 lessons- you can login on your own time and go through each lesson as you wish. I have found it very helpful and spot on! Another, friend I hired was Stephanie Thacker with Steadfast Bookkeeping- she was referred to me by Amy. Stephanie owns a bookkeeping company that manages businesses. She is playing a HUGE roll in cleaning up my books and starting fresh. Something that makes me over the moon HAPPY… Once the books are in place, she will then manage them when needed. YEAH!!! 2017 is already going in the right direction. I have NO idea why it’s taken me so long to do this? But, I’m so happy to be heading in the right direction! I wanted to share it with you because, I know how hard it can be to run your own busniesses day to day and alot of the extra parts sometimes pile up… I’m here to tell you- THEY DON’T HAVE TOO! Hire people to help.
