Tips To Have The Most Productive Day Ever!

Today, I’m sharing 5 tips on HOW to have the most productive day! Many of my tips have taken years to master… Don’t give up and you don’t have to do them all at the same time… you can work on one at a time.

1) WAKE UP ON TIME

I rarely set an alarm and I tend to wake up the same time everyday. I don’t have black out shades in our bedroom or wear eye covers to sleep. I’m a sunlight kinda gal and the sunshine wakes me up and gets me going.

2) GIVE YOURSELF 45 MINUTES EACH MORNING WITHOUT CELLPHONE, TV or INTERNET

This gives me clarity, it gives me time to collect my thoughts. I either am taking a walk or am getting ready during this time. In this 45 minutes, I also check my calendar for the day. I add to it and/or confirm what is on the schedule for the day.

3) BATCH YOUR DAYS

This is key for me staying organized! On Sundays, I usually organize my up coming week. Batching your days means “I don’t do everything on every day”  Personally, Professionally, Meal Prep etc. This means on…

Monday– I clean, laundry, wash sheets & grocery shop.

Tuesday– An example could be… Oil change on car in the morning (what do I have to do on that side of the town & what am I passing on my way back home?) This prevents me from driving over to this side of the town later in the week. I am recognizing this and it saving me drive time + gas. Afternoon, Styling Ideas for JS & pickup products for styling.

Wednesday– Paperwork for SN office, pick/up office supplies for SN. Vacuum office & home.

Thursday – Costco, Target Errands. JS product ordering, JS Holiday photo shoot. JS planning.

Friday – Clean up day… whatever company needs my attention most. Cleaning up anything that didn’t get finished. During the week. An example is tax preparing- I might do a little each day until finished.

4) EAT DINNER TOGETHER

I grew up doing this. My parents made us do this! I say “made” us. We were always aloud to have a friend join but we were rarely able to miss a Monday- Friday dinner time. I sometimes HATED IT. Now, as a parent myself… I LOVE that my parents requested that of us. Once Jason & I married we also continued this tradition. Times did change over the years. When I grew up, sports where coached by teachers and practices were right after school so we were always home by 6pm dinner. As my children got older, coaches were parents and sports took place in the evenings. We always adjusted but knew the importance of family dinners. This is where we talked about the day. Talked about school, school activities, weekend plans, upcoming birthdays etc.

5) SLEEP

Burning the midnight oil ISN’T good for YOU! Your body needs sleep… I know you know exercising, drinking water, eating healthy are also important to your HEALTH. I think how much sleep you get is just as important but over looked by ALL. I slept 9 hours regularly a night. I don’t ever nap and if I do I’m up later that night.

I hope my tips on being productive help you and provide clarity throughout your busy days.
